Typical Physiotherapy Session at Midlands Physiotherapy

A typical physiotherapy session will involve an initial consultation, when a detailed personal history of the patient will be taken. This will also involve a detailed history of the condition that is to be treated. Once this has been completed, a treatment plan will be decided upon.

Treatment may involve:

  • Manual Therapy
  • Muscle imbalance and stability work
  • Personal rehabilitation exercise programmes
  • Soft tissue mobilisations
  • Gait analysis
  • Acupuncture

YOU are the key to which treatment you receive.

We are not going to hurt you, Physiotherapy may be a little uncomfortable on occasions, but we have no intention of your session akin to some sort of torture, we want to get you better remember.

If further sessions are required, then that will be discussed upon completion of the initial consultation & we will tell you how long we think it might take to get you back doing the things you want to do.  With all of this information you can decide how you want to proceed forward.

If you’re coming in to see us for the first time, please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time so we can go through some paperwork with you, and it’s probably best, where ever possible to wear some loose-fitting clothing, so we can see the area where you are experiencing the problem.
