Looking For ways to get Healthier & Fitter & Stronger?

One of the hidden effects of the COVID-19 pandemic has been the rise in the deconditioning among many people. This is particularly significant to people with health conditions, who also haven’t been able to access many of the health service over the past couple of years.

Because of this, we at Midlands Physiotherapy are getting behind a new, STRONGER MY WAY, and helping you get stronger.

Too few people were doing the recommended amount of strength training, which is twice a week, before the pandemic & that has only increased now.

We have some help for you

That’s why the CSP, (that’s our professional body, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists), began work with Sport England. In 2019 they started  to explore how you could be better supported doing strengthening on a more regular basis.

The pandemic has only heightened the importance of this, and there’s now launched Stronger My Way, and we’re getting behind this campaign.

The campaign is built around a hub on the CSP website, but we are here to help you get into the great habit of doing some sort of strength training, whether that be at home, in the gym, or with a trainer.

On the STRONGER MY WAY website, you can get links to videos on how to start strengthening, articles delivering reassurance and advice that it’s safe to do it, and case studies from people who have benefited from getting stronger their way.

How we can help

There are also resources which are very good to help you track progress of your fitness program. And researchers suggested to us that physio staff, amongst other professionals, are a trusted source of advice on the issue of strengthening. We’re here to help you.

We understand that a Physiotherapists input is  essential for some people, because a lot of people are concerned about training anyway, but we can give you the right advice on how you can move forward and benefit moving forward.
